Project Funding: Literacy Circles and Developmental Screenings
Program Services: A system of coordinated services and supports for expectant parents, newborns, infants, and toddlers who have or are at-risk for developmental delay or disability that concentrates on home visitation, child development and health.

Project Funding: Awareness Forums to network childcare providers, elementary professionals, and parents.
Program Services: Meetings are open to the public and family involvement is welcome. Councils have numerous initiatives to assist families including Help Me Grow, lead elimination, after school programming, parenting workshops, as well as service planning for families who are receiving services from multiple agencies.
Project Funding: Expand early literacy program, “Reach Out and Read”, where children birth to age 5 receive new books at each well child visit. Parents also receive materials and information about reading aloud to their children.
Program Services: Pediatric healthcare services for children and families.

Project Funding: Expand existing literacy training, offering training on the Literacy Tool Kit for home and center-based providers and training on developmental as well as classroom environment assessments.
Program Services: Child Care Connection maintains a database of child care providers, provides families with information on how to select child care; provides professional development, technical assistance, and resources to early childhood professionals, and provides information to policy and decision makers in the community.

Project Funding: Expand existing literacy training for home and center-based providers by offering institutes, conferences, and professional development.
Program Services: Provide support, professional development, and resources for early childhood professionals.
Project Funding: Early literacy training for parents known as “Every Child Ready to Read”, Literacy Resource Lists and Literacy Tool Kits for Childcare Providers
Program Services: Library services including parent training, reading programs, and resources.
Project Funding: Early Literacy Resource Libraries, Read In Days, bilingual resources, and outreach to communities. These tools will help to increase parent effectiveness, support early childhood development and promote the learning readiness of young children.
Program Services: Community centers located in neighborhoods throughout Youngstown provide educational and social services as well as support for families.
